6. One Night with the King

One Night with the King by Tomas Tenney is a novelization of the story of Esther found in the Bible. I found it to be a very interesting look into what could have transpired in the events found in the Bible. It shows Hadassah growing from a girl that questions her faith to becoming a woman of faith among gentiles. As I read the book it gave me some very interesting insights I have never considered as I have read the book of Esther, the Jewess that become Queen and eventual saves her nation, leading the celebration of Purim.

The cruelty of Hamman and the ability of the King to be manipulated is well contrived and very believable to read. The author did a great deal of research to make the settings and customs of the court rich and defined. If you love reading about Esther, or about faith this book is very enjoyable.
